What do I do the best? Accept responsibility for my own learning. I would rather go out on the web or go through my own resources to find out how to do something. When there is something I want to learn, I give it my all. This is especially when we get new technology "toys". I don't think that there is someone else out there who can tell me the the best way for me to use something. I gather ideas from people and value their input but it comes down to me. If I don't invest the time and energy into it, then I won't get the full benefits.
Great post Kathleen!
ReplyDeleteKathleen, I am the same way in that I accept responsibility for my own learning. I am much more likely to do something if it is not force upon me. I have tried this with my students making homework "optional" but it backfired tremendously. Do you think that this trait is a matter of generation, age, level of responsibility, or something else?
ReplyDeleteOR Are we asking teens to do something they are not physically capable of doing? What about the development of their frontal lobe? At what developmental age can people make good decisions?
